SKAN

CASTLE: FIORENTINO

Skan, born in Cagliari in 1988, was born and raised in Sardinia.
He moves to Milan to live and study, but later decides to return to his hometown.
His work has always been influenced by the world of graffiti and is therefore marked by the use of spray paint.
Beyond muralism, his experimentation also ranges into painting on canvas, paper, and wood, as well as drawing.
His works are distinguished by scenes in which the evoked human figure is broken down across different planes of perspective; the blurred edges of its features evoke a distant, intimate, and inaccessible memory.
The themes that characterise Skan’s work delve into the psyche, drawing inspiration from the psychological phenomenon of false memory.
Over the years, Skan has exhibited in various group shows. In 2016 he staged his second solo exhibition—and his first outside Italy—‘False Memories’ at London’s 1963 Gallery.
In addition to his numerous interventions in his home region, he has created works in Trieste, Bologna, Milan, Reggio Calabria, Taranto, as well as Barcelona, London, and Timișoara, and he continues to take part in urban art festivals and projects.
